The 2000GT was launched in 1967 and was hailed as the greatest sports car ever released by Toyota even to this day. Although it did not sell in great numbers due to its high price at the time, it has nevertheless achieved cult status, and is a much-sought after collector's item today, fetching close to US$1 million for a mint condition example. The 2000GT was facelifted after 2 years on the market, as was the usual Japanese manufacturers' tradition. The changes on this model included a new front grill, re-shaped front driving lights, orange indicator lenses,  new alloy wheels, new rear lights cluster, and larger-sized rear fog lamps. This Ebbro model also features new bottom chassis details and a working-action manual flip-up headlight system.
